Casa Sole is a century old Spanish villa situated in Durro, Vall de Boi, a small recluse mountain village in the Catalan Pyrenees. The Town Hall acquired it in order to transform it into an Ethnological Museum of Catalonia. My task was to faithfully document the atmosphere of Casa Sole at the moment of the acquisition, prior to any modifications made by the Town Hall. Like all old houses, Casa Sole had a very intriguing and fascinating story to say. During its last 21 years, it had no inhabitants whatsoever; preserving the exact status quo of the day the last human being left the house. All reminiscence of life stayed untouched, like the vases with flowers, the rest of the food on the kitchen table or the night pot ready under the bed. I felt like I could be caught red handed any moment by the owner, who would scold me for intruding his property. In complete discordance with its name, Casa Sole benefited only of four hours and a half of daylight, being located between two mountains peaks, and had no electricity. The spider web was omnipresent, as was the mould on the walls. The broken windows, the creaking wooden stares, the freezing cold were composing an Andersen tale mood, with a quirky Hitchcock touch. The furniture, an eclectic mixture of styles and eras, remained intact. The kitchen was similar to the nowadays ones, but with a century old stove instead of cooker, and the archaic guest bedroom was endowed with an obsolete television set and walls covered in golden age movie stars posters. But the most thought-provoking thing were the religious icons above all beds in the house. It was like the family was completely embracing the divinity in order to ease the pain of losing the only heir at a tender age, in mysterious conditions. The tragedy happened when the heir was driving a tractor in the yard, and he fell under its wheels. No one could determine if it was an accident or a suicide.
With my photos, I tried to capture all this intriguing history of Casa Sole, its eerie mood and its dramatic tales. They were part of the opening exhibition for the now Ethnological Museum of Catalonia.

Barcelona City Hall has launched a website, called BVISIO , a digital platform where anyone can upload and share their own videos and photos of Barcelona. It can be useful, if you plan to visit the city, in order to locate a place or make you an idea of what you are going to see. If you have already visited the city, you can also use it to show your impressions and share your own experience.

These banners were used for advertising the website either in magazines or on street and metro stations. The art direction and design was realized by Manuela Moulian.

Clubzone is the virtual community of nightclubbing most important of Europe. It is present in 15 countries on the continent, we can count including UK, France, Italy, Netherlands… And the thing goes further to USA, South Africa and Asian countries like China or Japan who will join the community shortly.
An event-competition campaign "BEAUTIFUL 2007" took place, in order to launch the website Clubzone in Spain. I took pictures of the most beautiful people of the night, in various clubs of Barcelona (Fellini, City Hall, Opium ...), and as you can see, Barcelona has a lot to offer during night time, too.

El tablao de Carmen

The Tablao de Carmen pays homage to the great dancer Carmen Amaya, a key figure in the history of flamenco.The Tablao de Carmen, in its 18 years in existence, has always been characterized by offering a great quality show, direct heir to the purest of traditions. The show, which lasts 75 minutes, can always boast artists of the most widely-acknowledged prestige. As an autentic tablao show has no formal choreography, each artist, interprets individually his or her number and the rest follow the beat, marking the rhythm, accompanying it and strenghtening it.

The documentary "Round in the world" is not just an account of some boxers life, but also the story of how people make boxing their passion, their daily work, the weight control, their efforts to pay out their own rents. It is about the happiness coming from the feeling of practicing such a noble and ancient sport: confrontation between equals.

Shin Chan: “Thanks God I got into boxing. This opened my eyes. I discovered another way of life. I’m not on the streets anymore. I got away from delinquency and drugs.”

Serguei: “Boxing in Spain is a bit complicated. People rekons it’s a violent sport which enhances violence, but it’s actually the opposite.”

Rosa Rosario: “When you are on the ring you know there are people watching, but you don’t think about them. You just think about your opponent.”
